Live Tool for Gear Hobbing
The design of this gear hob tool allows you to produce gears or spline shafts on most major turning centers in one operation. This tool allows you to go from barstock to completed part on one machine, with one operator. Standard or special
hobs with single or multiple starts can be used. Many arbor sizes are available in either inch or metric sizes. The holder can be adjusted for angles to 25º, and is capable of making spur gears, bevel and helical gears, splines, and wormgears. Hob holder accepts a hob to 3.000" diam by 3.000" (76 × 76-mm) long.
